CHILDREN'S MINISTRY AT INDIANOLA FIRST METHODIST CHURCH

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." - Matthew 19:14

Nurturing Children in Faith and Community

At Indianola First Methodist Church, we embrace the significance of early education in Christ. Our range of programs, designed for children from infancy through 6th grade, prioritizes a learning environment where God's love is both engaging and fun. Our goal is to make children eager to be at church, helping to establish Jesus as a priority in their lives.

Deepening Connections Through Our Day School:

Our children's ministry works closely with our Day School, creating a cohesive and nurturing environment for spiritual growth throughout the week. This partnership allows us to build deeper connections with our children, reinforcing Christian teachings and values consistently, and fostering a stronger sense of community among our young members.

Bridge: Transitioning children to Youth Ministry

The 'Bridge' program is specially designed for 5th and 6th graders at Indianola First Methodist Church. It serves as a transitional ministry, led by our youth director and children's leader, to guide children between the children's ministry and youth ministry. At this pivotal age, the program also introduces the foundational steps towards confirmation, marking the beginning of a deeper exploration into their faith journey.

The Bridge program meets on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 PM through the spring and fall. The Bridge program also meets on Wednesday nights at 5:45 PM during the spring, aligning with our midweek activities. The Wednesday night activities lead up to a yearly retreat for our confirmands at Camp Lake Stephens in Oxford, Mississippi.
